USA poker sites deposit options:
Online poker players from the United States have a bevy of options to choose from when funding and selecting a site. Many online poker rooms will suggest that you finance your U.S. online poker account with Visa or MasterCard, although their approval rates vary depending on your bank. When in doubt, try using your credit and debit cards if one or the other fails and be sure to take advantage of any deposit support that your chosen room has. Remember, they’re there to help.
If you’re not having any luck using plastic to fund accounts, then try Western Union, e-checks, or a bank wire. The processing fee for each transaction type varies widely, so make sure you’re fully aware of how much you’ll be charged before you begin moving money. Players on online poker forums have reported mixed success with pre-paid debit cards and, with the state of the industry in the U.S. constantly in flux, we’d suggest doing some research before you begin funding your account.
Now that you know how to deposit, where should you play? Let’s take a look at the leading USA-friendly sites.

With the () now completed – save for the determination of the world champion from the November Nine – the online poker room has announced the latest member of its prestigious Brunson 10.
At the start of the WSOP, put four players up for what would be the seventh slot on his hand picked team of young professionals who represent the site by using a points formula when each player cashed in a tournament. The battle featuring David “Doc Sands” Sands, Dan “djk123” Kelly, Faraz “The_Toilet” Jaka, and Michael “martin23” Martin looked to be a thrilling and close fight, as all four players are highly skilled in both the live and online arenas.
The quartet jousted through the eight-week WSOP, with the lead in the competition changing at several points. “The_Toilet” seized a slight edge before “Doc Sands” came back to pass Jaka and capture the top spot. There would be another change on the leaderboard as it came to its final days, however.
A few days prior to the start of the WSOP Main Event, Sands held a slight lead over Kelly, who promptly took down Event #52, the $25,000 Six-Handed No Limit Hold’em tournament. By winning that bracelet, Kelly earned an automatic spot on the Brunson 10, leaving Sands, Jaka, and Martin to fight over a spot of their own.
After the dust settled following the WSOP Main Event, Sands had earned 2,269.10 leaderboard points, easily outpacing Jaka and Martin to take the “Become a Legend” title. Over the span of the WSOP, Sands cashed in five separate events, winning over $88,000. Jaka attempted to keep pace with Sands through the grind of the WSOP, but came up just a bit short in the end.
“The_Toilet” racked up three cashes in WSOP events, two of which came in tournaments with a significant buy-in. Jaka finished eighth in the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship and grabbed 31st in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Shootout. Jaka’s three cashes earned him more money ($113,646) than Sands, but fewer points (1323.38) due to their smaller prize pools and field sizes. Martin failed to crack the board during the WSOP.
With the “Become a Legend” competition over, Sands and Kelly now join a group of players that will be highly competitive – both live and online – for several years to come. Their respective achievements during the WSOP – Kelly’s bracelet win and Sands’ victory in the “Become a Legend” competition – make them the seventh and eighth members of the “Brunson 10,” joining Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark, Amit “amak316” Makhija, Dani “Ansky” Stern, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, Alex “AJKHoosier1” Kamberis, and Steve “gboro780” Gross.
There are two more spots to be decided. Visit for more details.

According to a report from the gaming industry website eGaming Review, has named former .com official Gabi Campos as the new Chief Executive Officer for the online poker operation.
Campos comes from leadership of the 888.com subsidiary Dragonfish, a business to business (B2B) arm of the company. Campos left that position last monthafter the fiscal reports of the company were revealed to stockholders, stated eGaming Review. From those reports, Campos was in a prime position to move to a larger company; 888’s fiscal numbers overall were down, but Campos’ Dragonfish provided approximately 20% of the revenues for 888 and increased the overall revenues of Dragonfish 33% in 2009 versus 2008.
Campos will step into the CEO slot at PokerStars on October 4th, but much of the original leadership of the company will remain the same. The founder of PokerStars, Isai Scheinberg, will remain as a major player in the organization as Chief Technical Officer. Scheinberg’s son, Mark, will take up the role as chairman of PokerStars.
eGaming Review reports that there was a special memo sent to the employees of PokerStars from Mark Scheinberg to ensure that there was a smooth transition in the company. eGaming Review published the memo, which stated, “Both Isai and myself will continue to be closely involved in the company’s strategic direction and building on the success we have all achieved together as a team over the last ten years. We are excited about this new chapter in the PokerStars story, and look forward to Gabi’s leadership in taking the company forward to continued success.”
What Campos’ exact position with the company will be is a bit of a mystery. As a privately owned company, there are no reports as to earnings from the market leader in the online poker industry. As such, there are no stockholders that a CEO would have to either push to buy more stock or shareholders that a CEO would have to soothe in lean times. Campos’ place as the new CEO at PokerStars may come in the public relations area. The online poker site has never had a person identified as the leader of the company; thus, it has a difficult time with public relations with its players and, especially, in the media.
As reported by Poker News Daily yesterday, the exposure of a “bot ring” in operation on PokerStars has been a very hotly contested issue as of late. The popular poker forum Two Plus Two and the rankings site PokerTableRatings.com exposed the existence of a large segment of players (nearly 30) that allegedly were using bot programming on the site. In the Poker News Daily article, a spokesman stated that PokerStars was aware of the situation and only ejected the players from the site after the allegations were made public on Two Plus Two and correlated by PTR’s calculations. Having a face for the organization, such as a CEO would be, would have been helpful in alleviating customers fears in a very delicate area.
Since the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act () in the United States in 2006, PokerStars has been virtually unchallenged because it still accepts players from the U. S., something that former leader and others weren’t able to do since they are publicly traded entities on various stock exchanges. Over the past four years, PokerStars has been able to build itself into a true behemoth in the online poker industry, leading second place (another site still catering to U. S. players) by nearly a 2-1 margin in player numbers, according to PokerScout.com. With his prior success at Dragonfish, Campos should be able to make PokerStars an even more impressive player in the online poker industry.

The first match of the highly anticipated Challenge has been running since February of 2009 and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight. Tom “durrrr” Dwan and still have 11,026 hands left in the challenge and the two haven’t played a session since April 30. But that isn’t stopping Dwan from lining up his next opponents.
Dwan confirmed in an April interview with Bluff Magazine that he intends to play once the seemingly endless challenge against Antonius is completed. Said Dwan, “[Two or three months] is the timeline to get it done, and with Brian, it’s possible to get it done even faster. With Brian, there will be days when we’ll probably play 5,000 hands.”
On Monday, Dwan and several of the world’s top players met up at the $100/200 tables on and, after Dwan took a loss of more than $100,000, he chatted with No Limit Hold ‘em specialist “jungleman12″ about the possibility of a future Durrrr Challenge match:
durrrr: y dont u take challenge
durrrr: since u never lose to me
jungleman12: i will prob
jungleman12: maybe
jungleman12: isnt bt (Brian Townsend) next or something?
durrrr: i can do 2 at once
durrrr: ship ivey 500k n we will work out details
durrrr: get my aim from someone
jungleman12: ok
durrrr: i wanna crank out at least 2 of em before london if poss
jungleman12: ill talk to you over aim before doing it
durrrr: we could obv play in like 2 weeks
jungleman12: k
durrrr: kk gg
durrrr: gl
Jungleman12′s identity is not known but he or she has been wreaking havoc at the high stakes cash game tables on since late last year. According to highstakesdb.com, Dwan and jungleman12 join as the three biggest winners on the world’s second largest site in 2010, each topping $2,000,000 in winnings. And Dwan’s comments in the chat box lead us to believe that he’s had a tough time with jungleman12 himself, making for what could be an exciting future match for the Durrrr Challenge.
Should the match take place, the same guidelines will be in effect: Dwan and anyone who accepts the challenge will play 50,000 hands of four-table heads-up No Limit Hold ‘em or Pot Limit Omaha with minimum blinds of $200/$400. If at the end of 50,000 hands Dwan is up by at least $1, the opposition must pay him $500,000. If the opposition is up, Dwan must pay $1.5 million, as he is laying 3-1 odds to anyone who is willing to play.
Currently, Dwan leads by $1,844,430 after 38,974 hands. The last match was played on April 30, well before the got underway, and Dwan beat Antonius for $335,802 in just 83 hands. Antonius has the option of quitting the match early and conceding victory, but given his competitive nature, that doesn’t seem likely at this point in time.
All of the action from the Durrrr Challenge can be found at durrrrchallenge.com. Stay tuned to Poker News Daily for additional news.
